Domain to IP Address Lookup

Find the IPv4 (A) and IPv6 (AAAA) addresses a domain name points to, live from public DNS.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the IP address of a domain?

Enter the domain name above. The tool asks public DNS for the domain's A record (IPv4) and AAAA record (IPv6) and shows every address returned, along with each record's TTL.

Why does a domain have more than one IP address?

Sites often publish several addresses for load balancing and redundancy. Resolvers return them in varying order, and clients can try any of them.

What is the difference between an A and an AAAA record?

An A record maps a name to an IPv4 address such as 192.0.2.1. An AAAA record maps it to an IPv6 address such as 2001:db8::1. A domain can have either or both.

What is TTL?

TTL (time to live) is how many seconds a resolver may cache the answer before asking again. A low TTL means DNS changes spread faster. The value shown can be lower than the one set at the source, because it counts down while cached.

Why does the IP belong to a company like Cloudflare, not the site owner?

Many sites sit behind a CDN or reverse proxy, which answers DNS with its own addresses. Use the IP lookup tool on an address to see which network owns it.

Why does the tool say the domain does not exist?

The DNS server answered NXDOMAIN, meaning no such name is registered or delegated. Check the spelling, or use the domain availability tool to see whether it is registered.
